Scarborough needs you!

The Scarborough Archaeological and Historical Society, founded 1947, is putting together a community archive to preserve the valuable and interesting details of peoples' lives in Scarborough over the last century.

If you have any old photographs or memories of Scarborough, your friends, family, neighbours and workmates from years ago then we want to hear from you.

Over 100 other towns across the U.K. have compiled a local heritage archive and thanks to the National Lottery Fund we now have the resources to start one in Scarborough.  If you would like to see what sort of things can be contributed to the archive then take a look at www.commanet.org

If you, or someone you know, would like to share their memories with us we can visit you and record the photographs, documents and stories which will be put onto a CD and made available for future generations to look at so that your, and Scarborough's, history will not be forgotten.
