The medieval building undergoing excavation next to Paradise House

The remains of a medieval building on the south side of Paradise Street were excavated before the area was landscaped for a garden. The excavation found the stone footings of a wall at right angles to the street and an associated clay floor and hearth. The building seems to have been abandoned after the existing high stone boundary wall was constructed along the street frontage, possibly before the end of the medieval period.
